For more than twenty years, Simone Henderson has been at the forefront of hair, beauty, and business. She began styling hair for family and friends as a teenager and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist, master barber, author, educator, medical prosthetic provider, and global stylist. Her gifted hands and sharp business acumen have taken her from her Queens, New York upbringing to stages, salons, and platforms worldwide. Simone is especially renowned for her precision pixie cuts and custom wigs.

Licensed in 2002, Simone later earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and soon after purchased her first salon, where she mentored and encouraged stylists to develop their artistry. She believes deeply that helping women of color feel more beautiful and confident is one of the most rewarding parts of her career.

Her work has been featured in Hype Magazine—a personal dream fulfilled—as well as collaborations with leaders like Richard L. Greene of Crown and Glory NYC. Simone’s innovative styles have gone viral across social media, and she has built a loyal following of nearly 14,000 on Instagram.

As a pioneer in medical wig services, Simone set a new standard for women of color. She championed the acceptance of custom cranial prosthetics through insurance providers, and today, she continues breaking barriers by offering solutions for women suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions. She is also proud to now accept HSA and FSA payments, making these life-changing services even more accessible.

In 2019, Simone sold her salon to focus on education and outreach. She authored multiple guides and e-books, including resources for stylists on business foundations, retirement planning, and wig-making. She also founded the Online Wig Making University, where she teaches hairstylists and entrepreneurs the art of custom wig-making and how to build profitable businesses around it.

Her passion for teaching extends beyond her own platform. Simone frequently speaks at universities, workshops, and professional events, where she shares her expertise on entrepreneurship, business ethics, and beauty industry success. She is also in the early stages of developing a new venture aimed at helping entrepreneurs strengthen their business foundations.

Although she’s not planning to step away from the chair anytime soon, Simone’s focus is clear: continuing to empower, educate, and elevate. Whether behind the chair, in the classroom, or through her digital platforms, she is committed to leaving an impact that goes far beyond beauty.
